La Belle Deesse

Gede

The Guede nation of spirits are the last to be saluted and after their arrival, the feast is over. They are the spirits of death and wash their faces with white clairin (unrefined rum) steeped in hot peppers. They’re sexually explicit and they love to dance the banda dance and, yes, they say a lot of bad words, but they are extremely good in healing health problems, removing bad spirits, and stopping evil work. We’ll start with Baron, the head of all cemeteries and we’ll finish with the last Guede.
